Giant Cable knit blanket. I love this, and I like the pouf on the floor, too!
I am a total sucker for a soft and snuggly throw blanket. We have tons of them in this house…probably a ridiculous amount…but I have trouble not buying them because there is nothing I love more than to snuggle in on the couch with a soft blanket, a cup of strong tea, and a book. Bonus points if the fireplace is going.
Today is pouring rain and chilly, and it feels like the perfect day to do just that.
I was in Target last week shopping for a birthday gift for one of the kids’ friends. And there sitting on the clearance rack was a beautiful throw blanket. Organic cotton. Herringbone print in a lovely shade of orange that would go perfectly in my bedroom. King size. It was meant to be. It is folded across the bottom of my bed now, and it is soft and warm. I love it.
In the Fall and Winter, I like a throw blanket on just about every couch, chair, and bed in the house. Who wants to go in search of one if you’re already chilly? One for every surface makes it much cozier. 🙂 I also love how a pretty throw blanket instantly adds color to a room.
One of my favorites is a beautiful afghan that Matt’s grandmother crocheted in really perfect Fall colors–cream, mustard, pumpkin orange, and chocolate brown. That one is on the back of the couch in the living room and we all fight over who gets to use it.
Each of my kids has their own fleece throw on their beds. My Mom made them and the kids picked out the colors. Those blankets get used constantly all around the house. Cold kitchen at breakfast? Get Nana’s blanket off your bed. Movie night on the couch? Get Nana’s blanket off your bed. Sleepover in the basement playroom? Get Nana’s blanket off your bed. Perfect.
We don’t need more blankets, because like I said, we have a ton. UNLESS…unless we get rid of some of the non-sentimental ones we already have that, in truth, have seen better days. They DO get used a lot. Interesting….
If I were to get some new throws, these are the ones I have my eye on:
Purl Soho Utility Blanket…I will take one in every color!
Pottery Barn faux fur throw. Um, yes please.
Tartan throw from Land of Nod. I can’t resist a nice plaid.
Anyone else have a throw blanket addiction? I’m off to snuggle up with Q right now and read some books…
