Welcome November

Lord of the Rings–Gimli, Gandalf, Legolas, and Arwen

Halloween was great, despite some rain while we were trick-or-treating.  We have an annual tradition of trick-or-treating with our good friends and their three little ones (and a 4th on the way!), so we had 6 adults (including one set of grandparents visiting from Utah!) and 7 kids in our group.  Our neighborhood is FULL of people all night, and I love bumping into neighbors and friends as we pass in the night, trying to keep up with a gaggle of excited children.

The children collected an obscene amount of candy, some of which we’ll eat and some of which will be sent to work with Matt.  They were exhausted when we got home last night and I think tonight will be an early bedtime.  Then we have the time change to contend with on Sunday–it should be interesting.

Our school system coordinates teacher workdays around election days since the schools are the most common polling places, so I am thankful that my kids have no school on Monday and Tuesday (a fitting way to begin a month of Giving Thanks).

Have a lovely weekend and Happy November!
