Well. That was a long and completely unplanned break from writing. I had so many things lined up to share over the winter holiday–craft projects I couldn’t blog about until after Christmas since they were gifts, recipes I found for awesome holiday meals, adorbs outfit ideas for holiday parties, brilliant ways to occupy children over a looooonnnnnngggg two-week school vacation. Instead we spent almost two full weeks with the flu. Yuck.
I was SO very glad to get back to our normal routine this morning. I think everyone in this house needs a little more structure in their days and weeks. I know I do.
Today is really the first day of my New Year. And I have quite a few plans for 2014.
I love the clean slate we get when the calendar flips to January. And as much as I love decorating for Christmas, I think I love un-decorating even more. My house feels so clean and spare and uncluttered when we pack away the tree and all the trimmings. It’s a breath of fresh (freezing cold) air this week.
Today I am getting our routines back on track. Planning my meals for the week and hopefully the month. Getting some errands done without children in tow. And enjoying two hours of quiet while all the kids are in school.
It’s good to be back on track.
