D-Day, 70 Years Later

DDay Invasion

Via The US Army D-Day Site

Today is the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.

While I did not have family who fought in WWII, Matt did.  In fact, his grandfather was one of five brothers who all fought in WWII, some in the Pacific, some in Europe.  All five came home, which seems sort of miraculous.

Another of Matt’s Great Uncles actually scaled the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc during the invasion of Normandy.

This is the U.S. Army’s official D-Day website, and it’s full of information and facts, stories and pictures.  It’s both amazing and humbling.  It’s worth reading.
